Toyota Corolla One of the Best Selling Cars in All The World

September 25th, 2009

In 1997 the Toyota Corolla became the best selling car in the world. With one sold on average of every 40 seconds over the past forty years. The Corolla is a subcompact or compact class that was first introduced in 1966. Over its years of production, it has undergone some unique major redesigns.

While staying with the tradition of the ‘crown’ theme, as with the Corona which is Latin for ‘crown’, the Corolla is Latin for ‘small crown’. And although Toyota did have some initial failures when they first introduce the original ‘Crown’ into the North American market place, with the revisions and constant improvements, the Toyota name is now synonymous with quality and dependability.

Corollas are made in a number of different countries including; Japan, Canada, China, India, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Venezuela, Turkey and many more…they were also once manufactured in Australia and in the United States.

Several varieties of the Corolla have been produced over the last few years such as the Corolla Ceres, Corolla Levin which was available in a very popular sports coupe model. Toyotas Corolla FX hatchback was replaced by the Corolla RunX, which eventually became the Ausris in 2006. Outside Japan it was still known only as a Corolla.

Another redesigned model that Toyota introduced into the European markets was the Corolla Verso. This was a small or compact MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) type vehicle.

The Corolla Matrix, or just the Matrix, is a sport wagon model and is considered to be the closely related sibling of the Corolla sedan that is found in North America. The Corolla hatchback is not found in the Australian/European market place. General motors also produced the Vibe, which is there version of the Matrix, and manufactured on the same platform. The Vibe is made in California, and when they are exported to Japan, they are known as the Toyota Volt.

One of the biggest concerns regarding all the Corollas that were built between 1986 to 1988 was their safety issues. In Australia they had a safety rating of ‘worse than
‘average’ according to the Used Car Safety Rating standards. From 1989 until 1993, they had improved their rating to ‘average’. In 1994 until 2006, and with many more new safety designs that had been implemented into every Corolla, they climbed to a rating of ‘better than Average’.

The North American equivalent to Australians safety rating system is the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. In Toyotas model years of 1998 to 2002, they rated them as ‘acceptable’ in their frontal crash tests at 40mph (64 km/h) The 2003 model received an overall ‘good’ rating but was only marginal in some other specific areas of testing. From 2003, after a redesign of many of the safety features, the Corolla had an overall rating of ‘good’ in every area that they were tested in. In 2005 to 2008, Toyota implemented side curtain air bags which had an ‘acceptable’ rating in the side impact testing.

There is a very good reason why the Toyota Corolla has become the best selling vehicle through out the world. Now on their tenth generation of Corolla, each improving on the previous model before. The original was built in October 1966, the only engine option was an 1100cc pushrod version.

May of 1970 was when Toyota released the second generation named the E20. Its body was redesigned to have a more rounded shape, and a larger 1400 or 1600 cc engine was made available. The third generation was introduced in 1974 and was a little heavier then previous model. Then of course came the 6 other redesigns which brings us to present day.

Is the used TOYOTA Vitz the new modern era of Japanese Vehicle?

September 17th, 2009

There has been an increase in the number of Japanese Vehicle in America. With the current economic downturn, we all have been forced to cut back on our expenses. This includes Businesses. Many experts believe that businesses are the ones that have greatly been affected by the current economical downturn. Seeing that we all need to cut back costs many people have started to look at the cars that they drive. It has been a common tradition for the American consumer market to drive typical American cars. These are known to be very large in size but also consume a lot of petrol. Now in comparison to a Japanese Vehicle like a used TOYOTA Vitz, one can see a substantial saving of about $9000. Most American cars come with a minimum engine of 5.6 litres which on average costs a person $3000 a month on fuel alone. This in comparison to a Japanese Vehicle like the used TOYOTA Vitz would only cost one $500 a month with its smaller 1.3 litre engine.

The great thing about the used TOYOTA Vitz is that it is a modern era car. The used TOYOTA Vitz falls under the small car category but definitely stands out of the crowd. When you look at the used TOYOTA Vitz at first glance, you will be able to see that it gives a space ship type look. The car has been designed to also give a sporty look and drive. It only takes one to sit inside the car to see how it fits into the modern era. The speed-o-meter compliments the space ship theme by having a semi circled digital speed-o-meter. The good thing about this Japanese Vehicle is that it does not have any extras that will disturb you from your job of enjoying the drive. Even though this Japanese Vehicle is known to only have a 1.3 litre engine, it still comes in automatic transmission. Now for those that may think that this Japanese Vehicle is not made for the roads of America, you will be quite surprised. Even though it has a small engine, the car is known to come with a turbo boost that comes into play when you hit 70 km/h. The great thing is that this car in particular has been incorporated with the latest technology. Instead of injecting fuel to give the car a boost it instead injects air. The engine of a Toyota Vitz acts like an air in take system which is known to increase the pick and speed of a car.

If you are planning to buy any Japanese Vehicle like the used TOYOTA Vitz, then there are many ways that you can go about in doing so. There are already a large number of Japanese cars in America which are currently being driven by the majority of the public. Seeing that a new model is nearly released every year, this makes many Japanese Vehicles to come up in the used category for sale. One of the best websites to look on is auto trader. This is known to have the largest car database system in America that is offering car for sales by the general public. When buying a car it is important that you check your car thoroughly. It is a good idea to get your car checked out through a mechanic to see if there is anything wrong with it.

Have Japanese used vehicles like the TOYOTA vitz taken over the American motor industry? Let us take a closer look

September 13th, 2009

There is no doubt that Japanese used vehicles like the TOYOTA Vitz are taking over the American motor industry. The American motor industry has been one of the most affected since the credit crunch. Many have learnt that in order to survive these tough financial times, one must change the way in which they do businesses. Everyone has understood this fact expect the American motor industry. They are being very reluctant in designing economical cars that will appeal to the American consumer market. They are prone to believe that typical American cars will still sell regardless of the current economical down turn. Many financial experts have hoped that after the incident with car giant GM, they will decide to change their business tactics. Seeing that the consumer markets are not receiving the supply according to their demand, this has given the Japanese used vehicles market like the TOYOTA Vitz to take over. The Japanese market has started to offer economical cars that are both cheap in terms of fuel and maintenance.

Now one of the most Japanese used vehicles that are being driven in America at the current moment is the TOYOTA Vitz. The TOYOTA Vitz has been regarded as a new revolution in the motor industry. Yes we have had cars that are similar in size such as the Mini Cooper and the Volkswagen Golf, but nothing has been able to compare to the latest TOYOTA Vitz. Now the TOYOTA Vitz is a modern car which is why you can expect it to be a bit on the pricy side. However if you compare the price of a Toyota Vitz with a traditional American car, you will automatically see a saving of about $5000. If you are short for cash then you can always go for it in the used category. Japanese used vehicles have always had a great reputation for offering reliable cars. Even though many people are against buying second hand cars, when it comes to Japanese used vehicles, it is completely a different story. In any Japanese used vehicles, you can always expect a few minor things that could be damaged. This would include a few scratches and maybe the tyres need changing. These things should never play a role in the decision of weather or not one wants to go ahead with buying a car. The main thing that you should always focus on is the engine of the car. Japanese used vehicles have always been known to offer guaranteed engines that will never give you any problems. Unless a car has been involved in a head first accident, then you could face problems, but either way we highly recommend to never buy front accident cars.

If you find a back damaged car, then this is a great way to be able to get hold of Japanese car in cheap price. The thing about a back accident car is that the only thing that can really be affected is the body kit of the car. This can easily be repaired for a couple of hundred dollars. When ever deciding on buying a car, it is important that you take as much time as you can. The more you rush into a deal, the higher chances you have of the deal going wrong. The more time you take to look around, the better deal you will be able to find.

Why a Japanese used car?

September 8th, 2009

With the recent downturn or the economy and the need for cars unchanged a Japanese used car seems to be becoming more and more of a good investment. The value of vehicles matters to people; the fact that a new car will lose a lot of its value right when it’s driven off the lot is no secret. Because of this fact, many consumers have started turning their sights onto used cars instead. A Japanese car, such as a Honda, has many qualities that would qualify it as a real great purchase decision; one great benefit is better gas mileage.
But, the most important question asked when looking to buy a Japanese used car, such as a Honda, is its long-term value. This is a very valid question. JD Power & Associates conducted a study in 2002 of the vehicles that were ranked highest in their long-term values; of the five top brands, all were Japanese.
There are a number of great tools you can use to find out the value of a particular Japanese used car. There are a lot of great brands out of Japan too; Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota, etc. You can simply look in the classified ads of your local paper where people have their for sale. You can take a glance at the statistical data in the Kelly Blue Book; the Kelly Blue Book site has a great search tool to find the specific car you are inquiring about. If you want to find a Honda Accord, 4 door Sedan from 1999 you can just set those specific search parameters, add the information about its features, mileage and condition and get a price.
There are models of Japanese used cars that will increase in value, such as an antique or a classic, but there are some models that might decrease in value over other models; you could have a case where one model of Honda actually depreciates faster than another model of Honda. Dealers can only help so much; the real work in investigating the long-term value of a vehicle should be done by you. You also have to keep in mind that a dealer will be a bit biased in their opinions as they are looking to make a sale.
There are things that can radically affect the value of your Japanese used car; not only the age of your vehicle, but also how well it is maintained. You might have a great little Honda Accord that gives you good gas mileage and would typically depreciate at a lower rate than another model. But if you run it into the ground and don’t get it looked at by a mechanic from time to time only bad things can come of it. The little maintenance jobs such as oil changes and tune-ups aren’t as important as the major work that it may need. The long-term value is in keeping the mechanical issues at bay, and purchasing a Japanese used car that is one of the more durable vehicles, like a Honda Accord.
You’ll be glad to find that your Honda will maintain a higher long-term value overall as compared to domestic brands like Chevy and Ford. It is widely believed that the domestics are easier to take care of and find parts for and that they are easier to maintain because of that, but your wisest investment is in a Japanese used car as you can purchase it for relatively little money and it will depreciate in value at a much slower rate than an American made vehicle. Just keep in mind what your vehicle will be worth 5 or 10 years from now when you are looking at the purchase price.
